INTERTECNICA introduces i-ON®: the new silver ions technology for antimicrobial fasteners. Thanks to i-ON® technology, infections transmitted via frequently touched handles can be effectively stopped.

This scientifically proven antimicrobial technology will provide lasting and effective protection against harmful bacteria, mould, fungi, bad odours and viruses up to 99.99% (ISO 22196:2011), minimizing the risk of staining and material degradation.

Once infused into the material during the manufacturing process, the silver ion antimicrobial additives destroy the cell membrane of the germs and therefore block cell respiration and cell ingestion.

The controlled release mechanism of the silver ions allows the inalterability of the antimicrobial characteristics over a prolonged period of time, even after numerous washing cycles, to guarantee the antimicrobial characteristic of the i-ON® product line.
